So everyone is all in a tizzy because Pat did his job and said something mindlessly insensitive about death and religion.

Something happened a long time ago in Haiti and people might not want to talk about. They were under the heel of the French, you know Napoleon the Third and whatever. And they got together and swore a pact to the Devil. They said ‘We will serve you if you will get us free from the Prince.’ True story. And so the Devil said, ‘OK it’s a deal.’ And they kicked the French out. The Haitians revolted and got something themselves free. But ever since they have been cursed by one thing after another.

Don’t you people get it yet? Your indignation is the point! The man is Howard Stern(ish). He’s a distraction for lunatics, he’s there to provide contrast for the rest of the right wing nutcases, in short he no more believes what he’s staying than you do. It’s theater.

If he does somehow believe it he’s obviously mentally ill, in which case the plot is a function of his handlers capitalizing on age related psychosis to accomplish the same goal. That goal is pacification, while you are all frothing about his insensitivity you are not doing a damn thing of value to society and thus threatening to them.

The whole point of the party system is to keep us bickering… With each other.

You saps make me sick. You’re as much a party to death as he is. You don’t care enough about war to risk anything trying to stop it. You don’t even want to know about what it would take to prevent global starvation because it would change your way of life. You’re more interested in the latest episode of whatever inane TV show it is you watch or what the score was on that last pointless game. People in Haiti were poor in the first place so you can live like fops and get all upset when someone is honest about not giving a rats fundament.

In three weeks will you even remember the earth quake if there isn’t a ribbon magnet or a self serving op ed to remind you? No, today it’s the flavor of the week, by then it’ll be old news.

Seriously, just put up or shut up.
